Reconstruction of a 20 t gantry crane

№ 5664

The reconstruction expanded the crane’s technological purpose by adapting it for handling mineral fertilizers in big bags for loading into railway cars.
Within the scope of the technical assignment, a comprehensive reconstruction of the gantry crane was carried out, including the following works:

  • The span was shortened in accordance with the design requirements.
  • The hoisting mechanism was modernized by replacing the grab configuration with a general-purpose lifting system for raising and lowering loads.
  • A new hook block assembly was designed and installed, specifically adapted to the crane’s structural features.
  • An operator cabin was designed and installed, equipped with all necessary access and control systems.
  • The rope and sheave system was optimized, improving the performance of the hoisting mechanism and trolley travel system.

  • Non-destructive testing of the steel structure was performed, and all identified defects were eliminated.
  • Impact-absorbing buffer devices were installed to reduce shock loads.
  • The power supply system was upgraded by installing a motor-driven cable reel of in-house production.
  • All cabling and wiring systems were completely renewed, and a new set of power distribution and control cabinets was installed.
  • The safety level was enhanced by  installing rotary limit switches on the hoisting and trolley travel mechanisms, as well as optical sensors on the crane travel mechanism.
  • Worn mechanical components were restored or replaced.
  • Ladders and access walkways were installed to ensure safe access to all service areas.
