Main purpose:
The gantry crane is designed to ensure controlled and regulated handling of containers with spent nuclear fuel at all stages of their processing and long-term storage at a nuclear storage facility.

At the fuel receiving stage, the gantry crane performs lifting and handling operations of specialised transport containers from railway platforms. Subsequent transportation is carried out to the storage area.

During facility operation, the gantry crane is also involved in maintenance activities and in carrying out safe technological operations in the event of abnormal or emergency situations.
