Сrane power supply pedestal

A crane power supply pedestal provides electrical connection for lifting equipment and marine vessels. It enables safe disconnection of electrical circuits and provides protection against short circuits and overloads, thereby enhancing the safety of both consumers and electrical installations.

Crane power supply pedestals are divided into three main types:

  1. Underground pedestals: The main components are housed within a protective frame. The primary connection units located at the edges of the pedestal are equipped with hinged covers. Power connection is possible only when the covers are closed, with power supplied through a feeder cable. Connection of flexible power cables is implemented individually for each terminal base using terminal block clamps.
  2. Above-ground pedestals: Manufactured from high-quality metal materials. For convenient monitoring of electricity consumption, the design includes dedicated inspection windows sealed with gasketed doors.
  3. Portable pedestals: Typically manufactured from lightweight metal. Inspection windows are located on the rear side of the enclosure to allow internal access. Two ergonomic handles are provided to facilitate relocation.

Electrical connections:

There are two primary methods for connecting electrical consumers to crane power pedestals:

  • Terminal block clamps: A standard connection method ensuring secure electrical contact.
  • Special adapter: Used for connecting cables with aluminium conductors.
