A rail clamp is a specialized device designed to securely lock an overhead or gantry crane onto the rail track in conditions where there is an increased risk of uncontrolled movement.  The rail clamp is used to fix the crane in a stationary position during maintenance operations or in strong wind conditions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and equipment damage.
